Actually, fuck that, yes I am. The attention whore thing can stand, seeing as I don't really care for the phrase. Everyone is an attention whore in some way or other, me included (me, most definately), it's a natural human impulse, but the "smug" bit knocks me completely senseless. Are you aware of how jumped up and self important you sound? "Rah, yes, I am a cultered individual, unlike you scabby, unwashed ruffians." You sound like you read NME.

Also, are you aware of the sheer amount of MSN conversations where I've had to call you Knott, so as not to get you confused with Touge? And there's a chap who's sometimes in these conversations called Andy?

I have to be completely honest, all of the webcomics in this thread (with the exception of xkcd and the occasional exception of Cyanide and Happiness) are complete and utter shit. Especially that first one with backwards text.

What the fuck is that supposed to mean? Where is the funny and how am I to come to enjoy it?

It's funny to me because you don't get it and I do. (Hint: It's a play on both Billie Jean and this scene from Twin Peaks.)

It's all about standards. For instance:

Art of a high standard, obviously took a lot of effort, a simple and amusing sight gag, well executed.

It's stick men. Probably took about five seconds, no real artistic effort, no sign of any kind of humour, just a slight whiff of navel gazing boredom. Also, WALLS OF TEXT, TL;DR.

I'm sorry, I know humour is a subjective thing, but you can't slag down TBK, PBF or Dr. McNinja and then hold up xkcd as FUNNIEST THING EVAR. Perhaps it is if you like cutting yourself and stalking women, which is the impression I get of the author.

The sight gag with the pogo stick was amusing - not funny, but amusing. Much better than the Michael Jackson one. And, to be honest, artistic ability or effort holds no value to me or most of the Internet. I care about the content, not the delivery.

And I didn't say (or mean to say) that xkcd was the funniest thing ever. It's clever - which is something most of the Internet seems to lack. It's not hilarious, but insightful - you have to think and be in the 'know' to understand most of his comics and when you do you chuckle. Not to mention how emotional some of the comics can be.

So, rather than basing my opinion on comics on being "funny" or drawn well, I base it off of how well it entertains me.
