And BTW, if anyone here showed the penis car to someone in the US government, we'd have the original gta banned from stores in a week. It's also a mod showing not originally intended possibillities of the original game release.

I can mod this game to let me drive a penis, this game is clearly evil and I should sue you for letting me do such a thing of my own free fucking will. tea

Why don't they ban any sort of screen at all then? Screens are clearly evil, they can show porn pics!

Well, you summed that up nicely in a box.

@ Cerb - Our idiots drive 60mph down residential streets when they're sober. When drunk they push 80 through town centers, swerving up on sidewalks and such. Not to mention getting in gunfights outside of bars. :p

@ Kab - Hehehe, not only was there the penis car, but there was ye olde Porn Truck as well. But if the US politricks had noticed those and started a scare, it would have been before T2 bought R* and R*^, and there wouldn't have been squirrelly shareholders to coddle. Without stock prices and corporate overlords hanging about, R* could/would/shouyld have just told everyone to fuck off.

As for an IQ test, well, I never voted for Bush, so does that count? biggrin

I believe so too, screen are evil. Back in the days when  there are no TV or screens and most
people just listen to the  radio. No one talked about porn and probably no one even know
what the heck porn is!

If they have heard a woman moaning on the radio, they will still not know what the fuck what was that moaning about.
They might think someone is singing the newest opera or probably it's the newest song!

I think game makers should just tell them to fuck off, and worry more about hte movie industry. Vilolent films are far, far, more vivid than games.

Oh well, some day these stupid fuckers will realise. I think we should make these arseholes play a game such as this, then, they would be shocked to find they enjoy it. I'd get them to blast through GTA2, San Andreas, Postal 2, and Doom 3. They couldn't NOT have fun.

Don't forget paper!  That'll stop porn mags!  Better yet, if we ban imagination then nobody could create any of this stuff in the first place!

at least the British media has got enough sense to ask someone who actually knows what he's talking about.

Edit: more bad news. If I was American, I'd head over to the next court now and sue all shops who don't sell AO games to adults, this practice has created damage worth $8,312,089.99 to me.

Personally, I think we should sue R* for falsely advertising/labeling the game as hardcore pornography. The critics accused them of this, and they basically admitted it in a press release, but even with the coffee mod, it doesn't come close to some other M rated sex  games. Let alone anywhere near the awe-inspiring depravity of the tentacle rape scat hentai games for which the AO label is designed. If I owned a video store or something, I'd sue the pants off of them, and I imagine R* would actaully want to lose so as to prove their innocence. tongue

While they're on a moral jihad, why don't they force everyone to wear a sticker on their head warning that "this person contains hidden nudity and their clothes can be modified to reveal it"? Or just ban those dirty humans outright.

And, yea, the BBC rocks. Although I'm a bit confused why they said I started modding for GTA2...

Yeah, the BBC does indeed "rock" as you crazy Americans say.  Sometimes governments actually create stuff which is good! tongue

ClLick Online mentioned it, too.  That's the half-hour geek technology show which gets repeated during the week on BBC World.  Only gave it a brief mention in the news section on the program and the site but it shows that the events have trickled across the Atlantic to the UK as well as across the Pacific to Australia.

This is a global opportunity for the rating system(s) to be shown up as the counter-productive nonsense it really is.

Though the article does quote you saying you started "modding the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) series since early 1998", so they just did it probably because they couldn't get a decent description for the pic or didn't get a pic from GTA1, whichever's dumbest...

As for the theme, it finally arrived here: something must have showed up in a local paper, because their online version has an article from 2 days ago about it. Lucky me, apparently my parents missed that edition, it's actually one they usually read. uhoh

And talking about GTA2, I finally got a legal copy of it, after years of search. Completely by accident, might I add: I went to uni to get a problem with one of my exams sorted out, but noone was there that I could talk to so I couldn't solve it. As such, and seeing as I had nothing to do for the whole morning, totally out of the blue I decided to go to a local store for 2nd hand CDs/DVDs to see if there was anything interesting in the CDs section. I may also add that this store wasn't even on my way home, it's a good 15min walk from Uni, in the opposite direction I usually take. As I was leaving, after seeking all the CDs I might want, I passed by the games section,  that I didn't even remember it existed... It was with shock and aww that I saw a perfect condition GTA2 boxset in the shelf, which I quickly grabbed and took a look... Indeed, it was in good condition, so I bought it for a good 8.95€, bargain after all these years of search!!! cool  tea

That means they missed out on the Snowball City fun, and the Space Station with the ace robots. Poor BBC.

It really doesn't say anything new actually. It basically describes what is going on with GTA:SA in the States, specifies that this is all about a mod developed by Patrick Wildenborg that alters the game's original source. It also says they've lost 50 million dollars already and that the 85 years old lady wants to process R* and probably more lawsuits are to come... Lastly, it says that ass face Jack Thompson want to do the same about Sims2, not only for the censored scenes but also for the images of naked kids, which could be used by pedophiles.

Google translation, because I can't be arsed... wink

I was actually quite surprised that this article was so soft, merely describing the facts and not making  huge deal that the game is for sale here and that there's pretty much no law about this stuff (or at least it isn't respected at all), but I just realized that it wasn't actually written by a journalist from that newspaper. I was written by a guy from a portuguese gaming portal, who's a bit more inside this whole modding deal...

After visiting the said portal, I realized that R*'s also having problem already with an upcoming release: Bully. biggrin

I'm sure you people have seen this already, but lets have a big up for professional Medial Whore Illspirit.

"Modding isn't a new thing at all.

I've been involved in modding the Grand Theft Auto (GTA) series since early 1998, and even back then there was a rather large community of people making mods for the games. "

Nice one Ill. i cant make new topics for some reason but you deserve the One for this hahahaha.
