That shading makes it look so much better than before and the material/reflection map combination gives the body a really rich colour.  Outstanding work, Frags.

A couple of days ago I tested what it would be like with slightly different settings.  Using a Engine Acceleration of 31 instead of 30 made it possible to drift at high speed, so you might like to update the download with that change.  That's if you are using my handling.

(EDIT) Something which I never liked is that the front seems to have too much ground clearence.  The front is like an off-road buggy while the back is an exotic concept car.  Really, the bottom wishbones at the front should be perfectly horizontal and the upper ones should slope upwards from the body towards the wheels.

When SA is around and I've managed to find some money to buy it and the right tools are out...then I'll have a try. I'll change some details on the Neural though, it now looks boring compared to the Neuralite, at least some shading is required.

I guess that's where my subconscious fear of low front bumpers comes through, I've broken one and scratched the ground various times with those things, thankfully, it wasn't my car.

The engine flames come from the nose of the car and not from the engine.  I am pretty sure that it is the position of the bonnet dummy which determines where the flames come from.  The holes I mentioned earlier in the COL file are actually a problem.  While getting that screenshot I found the front wheels ending up underground a few times on hard landings and when I reversed into a post, the post when right inside the car and I could not get free.  There is window smashing on front-end collisions when no windows get smashed.  It seems almost impossible to actually make the engine cover get damaged because of how the COL is back there.

The bonnet dummy sadly does not change the position of the flames, even the BF Injection starts burning at the front, although rear-engined, I hope that is changeable in SA.

The post-stuck-in-car happened to me with ingame cars too, so I guess it's at least partly a bug in the collision detection engine. The getting-stuck-underground issue is the same like on my monster trucks, nobody has found a way to fix that there yet.

I can't do nothing at the moment, I'm not even home right now and stuck with a really old p233 mmx laptop and 56k connection. I didn't even knew there are people around still playing GTA3, but when I'm back home, I'll see what I can do...

Some guy at the pits did a SanAn conversion, but judged from the pics, it's not that great...I'll probably release a Neural megapack for San Andreas after converting both Neurals and modelling the third one.

I bet it is a Vietcong tunnel outlet! Damn those crafty Vietcong. A couple of grenades should do it... but go to find it first! Arg!

Oh, and the GTA-3 based games have awful collision detection. Any cahnce of a San An Conversion, btw?  tongue

I think the convertor just didn't understand how I made this  toned glass with the extreme reflections in VC. I found out that reflections only seemed to work on textured material in VC, so I used an alpha-mapped dark gray texture for the windows and a special reflection map (the same I used for high-chrome effects on the rims and other parts). I guess this method doesn't work in SA though, due to SA's different reflection system. I guess the guy who converted it just didn't bother to check what was wrong with the windows.

When I'm back at my place, I'll try a proper conversion, which looks really good in San Andreas.
