The current/old method of storing cookies isn't very secure and could do with some improvements. So I've rewritten all the authentication/login/register parts of the code so that we can have more secure cookies!

Previously your user name and password were stored with very basic encryption.

Now your user number will be stored, along with the md5 hash of your password. This will improve security and allow more flexibility in the future.

The board will accept the old style and the new style of cookies for now. Anyone who logs into the forum or registers from this point in time will automatically use the new method.

I've made converting to the new method as painless as possible. All you need to do is visit the cookie converting page and you will automatically be using the new cookies.

A javascript message box should appear for people using the old method because I know some people like to ignore my very important announcements topics rolleyes

    		I get loads of e-mails with viruses in them Alfa, but it would make sense to make these a bit less e-mail like. Since your posting and people have registered and used the board since I made the changes I'll assume everything is working correctly and remove my e-mail address from that post.

    I'll change it a little in the other one as well.
