So the tile problem I was getting was pissing me off.  It's the one where the tile selector messes up.  I tried VMware but figured it wasn't worth the effort but this idea just popped into my head and I wanted to share it.

All you need is Style Editor (Here) and heres what you do.

So my way around it is pretty much is using Style Editor to view the files and tell me the index number which I can then use to find the tile in the map editor.  A bit of guess work, but a lot less than before.

1. Open Map editor and choose a sty file
2. Open Style Editor and choose the same sty file
3. In Sty next the sprite tab select textures
4. On the right hand side select the info tab this will display the index number of the sprite you selected
5. Find the tile you want, look at the index number and then open the map editor and find the tile with the index number (it is displayed above the tile preview) and remember that the index number increases up and down not left and right.

I'm sure Delfi has the skills to take over the interface for the GTA2 map editor and add his own style viewer.  It could select the same tile in the real interface but hide it from view.  He was able to change the GTA2 network screen completely but that is a much more basic interface.  He's a busy man though and this would take some effort.
