Shape looks good, though there are plenty of nissan nerds around to offer advice on that front.

I'd get in hot and heavy on the roof and rework the shading. The highlight is nice, fits the whole overexposed thing that has become GTA shading, but there's a big nasty hue shift running from the front right pillar to the middle of the rear window. I'd shift the darker hue further over to the corner and smooth out that line. Lots of smudging and all will be well.

I'd make the front right as dark as the rear right, that looks nice but the front needs a little depth.

But coming along nicely.

here is some ingame size comparison for you ;)

http://www.gtatools.com/temp/itworks.jpg

ofcourse it will make it so it will be scaled down but i havent added that to the game yet..

and here is when i added proper scaling, compare it to 64*64 cars and other textures around it:

    OMFG Delif! That's awesome!

@ Azz. The shape on that front is pretty accurate but I've redone some of the shape on the car and I've also fixed the lenght of the windows. I will post the picture later.

@ Daniel. The reason why the car's not transparent around is because I just merged all the layers and then colorized it. This will be sorted later.

Could I just make a slight tangent by saying the second x4 car fot TDC is well on its way to a previewable state. But I'm not going going to tell you what it is (does an evil laugh). You have to guess (continues previous evil laugh, but more intensivied, with lightning striking in the background).

Ha ha ha! Good for you yes I would guess you are making a modern day version of 300 ZX?

    Close, but you're way off.

Actually its the Saleen S7. Stupidly I decided to make it in white, a habit of mine lately. Should look good when it's done

UPDATE! I decided to make the car a little bit darker. It looks much better now IMO.
New shading on the windscreen, though it's not finished. The dashboard needs work and so do the jigsawed sides.

@ Bryan. Nice! I wish you all my best. wink

you mean bump mapping? if anyone was to ever go thru all the effort in creating a bumpmapped version of a car it would take weeks for it to look "perfect". do you volunteer to try? ;)

bump mapping is for map textures.

i mean cos atm, the shadows "move" around the cars, but the highlights are stationary, so it looks silly :S

i know, but i cant make a  bump-mapped car, it would take too much time to make one, and i am not sure if it would look good at all..

You could use a neutral light source direction, like GTA2?  Then you wouldn't need to worry about moving highlights around the car.

That's an idea but it would be hard to do as you would really need to make the cars with heightmaps or they will look completely flat.

To the left you can see a car without heightmaps. To the right a car with heightmaps. Sorry for the crappy picture but I made it on the school computer and they suck. You get the picture? dead
