Yup, that's what I'm talking about!! But, it's going to be straighter than that right?

With the new front lip, headlights and curved bonnet it looks about a thousand times more hardcore.

More pics, now with windows and exits vents behind the front wheels:

Wheels are still just the old ones for testing purposes. The exit vents lack contrast on these pics, they'll look better when I've made shaded textures.

for the vent I want to share a couple of ideas :D Firstly IMO it should go up higher, and have a splitter in the middle to continue the whole theme of the car - - e.g.

That is one awesome vehicle! Alfa's idea for the side vent would make it even better, imho.

Only thing I don't like is the bonnet slopes in the wrong direction as it meets the windscreen.  There would be a big area of low pressure in this area, creating lift and undoing the sophisticated aerodynamics on other parts of the car.

I would suggest bringing the bonnet lower, making the front bumper lower, and making the front spoiler less steep (looks a bit 1980's Ford Capri at the moment, imho).  The bonnet could then sit lower, in between the front wheel arches, so it wouldn't have to slope the wrong way as much.  Doing this would alsomake the front match the back, since the tail runs down between the rear wheel arches.

The car is looking awesome and the aero parts generally look functional.  I think the front could be made more aggressive and more believable, though.

actually, the side vent has got some seperations right now, here's a detail shot:

It just got totally lost on the other pics in the green paint and the jpg compression.

Alfa's idea is pretty cool, I'll think about redoing it that way or making a mix of both styles.

A Ford Capri front was about what I had in mind when I built it. Your ideas soound quite reasonable, although it would require a very flat engine and front suspension. I thought about adding some holes to the front bumper (maybe brake cooling air intakes), what about that?

To be blunt, it looks like it has a snow plow on the front, imho.  I think that pulling the nose down so that the spoiler was nearly horizontal would make it look a lot more modern.

You could give the bonnet a "power buldge" down the middle towards the windscreen, which the top of the engine would fit inside.  The panels on either side of the buldge would stay fairly flat.  I think you get what I mean, even if I'm not explaining it well. uhoh

If you don't make these big changes to the bonnet, lowering the front edge of the nose would make it look more like a Neural and less like a 1980's Ford Capri rally car.  It's a great design already; these are just ideas which might make it even better.

I really like the splitter, works as a nice juxtaposition to the 1970's-pseudo-1990's cab thing you've got going on. Love the back end too. Just the bit in the middle that doesn't do it for me I guess..

I really like it.

Not much else too say, you've got plenty of good feedback from others.

Is it going to have a door like in Alfas sketch?

I could do a door like Alfa's suggestion, but it would mean that you'd have to crouch to get in, as this car is only an inch higher than the original Neural. I'm thinking about doing this as some kind of removable window part, like a Delorean door has. I haven't found time to work on it recently though, my real life is causing too much stress right now.

Not that I think the idea I have in my sketch is the best - but in the sketch I intended to have it a la Countach - the whole huge bit of glass opens, but only that slither can slide down. I dunno, it was a lot easier to do door deltas for GTA1 :P (possibly a good way to find inspiration for how to work it)

Beetlewing doors might work.  The hinge would have to be in the glass but it is a space-age Neural material.  Alternatively, scissor doors hinged from behind the front wheel arches would mean the hinge was on proper bodywork and the door wouldn't swing through the player.

I'm not making real progress with this one, but at least I managed to rework the vent:

http://storm.elxx.net/fragdieb/fgt_21_spokes.jpg
...and I tried to design a more fitting wheel, 21 bent blade spokes, quite a lot SLR and Italdesign inspired.

The wheels and new vents look excellent.  I'd say you were making great progress on it. yes

An experiment how the door could work, I tried to do something that's different from the other 2 neurals.

If you cut the edge of the glass a little differently, you might be able to make it hinge from that part of the body and where it meets the roof?  That would be a more realistic beetle wing since hinging from one small point looks a bit fragile.

Perhaps cut it more like the attached image shows?  Red line shows where the door glass might be cut.  Blue line shows the axis the door might use.

Nice idea, that would make it look like this:

Still looks a bit fragile, but that will change as soon as I start working on the inside of the door and the window frames.
