Just thought I'd make a short post about a few new details that have been released about San Andreas for the PC.  As you would expect, it will be updated with higher resolution textures, higher polygon counts in models and reflection mapping.  The customizable MP3 radio station is back, and this time around it will include a DJ and some advertisements.

That's all at the moment, there are a few screenshots that have been scanned from a Gamestar magazine article over at GTAGaming.com if you're interested though.

Oh just great, so it won't run on my computer.

Oh well! Sounds lovely.

I'm going to decapitate someone if it requires pixel shaders. Grrr.

Just noticed Elxxy's post count! Hehe.

Hmm... great... lets hope with these graphics update's the bother to makeir run smoothly. Even VC, a better conversion, still lagged occaasionally and didn't load the levels properly on my PC. Which, runs Half Life 2 in Medium Settings with no problems or lag.

Oh, Pixel Shader? Cars cost about £30-40 now. :/ For an entry level 9250 or equivilent.

It'll probably not REQUIRE pixel Shader, you can probably turn it off easily.

CD-Rom? I always thought the GTA SA PC version was DVD-ROM only, I can't imagine how they fit all that data on CD's...the loading time will be C64 style ...interesting that they don't say anything about harddisk space there, too.

Apparently it's on CD and DVD-ROM in America, yet only DVD-ROM in Europe...  No official word yet though.

As long as we don't have to register it online to play... it can come on 10 CD's for all I care...

Why CD in America too? Surley... America, self designated "Home of Computer Technology" would have more DVD drives than us backward Europeans!

Oh well. Either way, looks set to be a good game.

As long as it features anti-aliasing...

My "new" graphics card has anti-aliasing, graphics are now SO FUCKING SEXY. Better, only if it wouldn't lag with smoke from tyres, hehe.

According to the R*'s SA site, it says PC version is coming out in North America June 7th and Europe June 10th.

If AMD's and Intel's dual core tech. comes out during those times also then it would be a time for some hardware upgrading!

ATi are having some cheap cards out now, but I think these cards will not perform as good as their higher classes.

Why was Far Cry US version available on DVD or several CD's then, whereas the european version was DVD only?

why get a 9800 when you can get a 9800 pro?

No, it doesnt. Not that it really makes stuff look better though. Infact, I've never noticed the difference.

I do need to upgrade it I just dont want to upgrade to...a 9800 pro. Even that's getting quite dated. I paid 130 for my graphics card about 2.5 years ago... I doubt a 9800 pro will last another 2.5 years as well as my gf4ti has

I've just helped built a PC with my friend with the Intel Pentium 4 530J (3.0GHz) processor and a mobo w/925XE chipset, and man does that sucka run fast!

Installing the whole XP system just took about 5-6 minutes.*

The installation is similar to having a system with RAID0.

*XP system only, does not includes drivers, updates, or latest slip-streamed Service Pack. Service Pack 1a is installed, but not Service Pack 2.

RAID0- Stripped: Two exact size physical hard drives are running in parallel mode, which brings out major performance.

***On April 13, 2005 all system that runs Windows XP , but does not have Service Pack 2 installed, will be automatically updated to Service Pack 2. Before the deadline, makesure to check if any of your system bios is compatible with the update because some system after installing SP2. The system will not be able to access Windows. ***
