I need to get a GFX'er to do that because I refuse to pirate high-end software to make them myself.

I have captured a second video for Curveshire and will compress it either tonight or tomorrow.  Not sure when it will get online, though.

NIcEE!!!

I do not get this part of your instructions. please help!

"Use Img v 1.1 to open file: GTA3_CurveshiremodelsGTA3.img"

Is the: modelsGTA3.img file you mentioned is actually the file inside RockStar's directory?

Where is that file?
It's not even included in the download.

The instructions tell you to make a new install of the game.  The folder must have a unique name, so instead of "gtaIII" I recommend you call it "GTA3_Curveshire" and once you understand that, you should understand where the file is: The "models" subfolder of the "GTA3_Curveshire" folder.

It is a file which gets installed from the disk, then copied from your original install to the Curveshire install.  It is a couple of hundred megabytes, which is too big to download, so you just use a simple tool to add the new data files.

Thank you, I've installed it successfully!!!

Here is a problem!

When I move the player to the "tokens" (the ones where you can pick your cars)

Of just stand at a distance of about 5feet away from the changing cars.

The player just dies for no reason.

It seems as if something just lands on top of him or something.

Also are the roads suppose to go in a loop or does it end?

Please, fix this, Thanks!

The "something comes out of nowhere and kills you" bug is known.  I think it is a mission script bug but the mission scripter person (ghostmaster_2000) dissapeared months ago.  If you jump instead of run when near the tokens it normally does not get you.

The spiral is just to test with.  Once the roads are heightmapped the spiral will be the actual road and there will not be a route around it.  Are you having fun with the new handling?

Cool. cool

I have finally gotten the second Curveshire video hosted, by GTA Warehouse.  They don't want people remote-linking to it so you can get it from their News Page.  It is the update for "Tuesday, January 18, 2005" on that page.

The road could use some guard rails.

It is still very much in development.  The roads will not be flat like they are now, so there is no point making guard rails and stuff when it has yet to be contoured.

I have finally managed to get the new intersection sketches to a point where I am happy enough with them to go public.  The full versions are 200-300kB, so be warned.

I have also re-designed the hairpins so that they are not literally the size of hair pins.  The spiral you can see in the botom-left of the first image is using the "helixroad" sections for accessing the GTA3 Callahan Lift Bridge from Staunton Island to Shoreside Vale.  I have drawn around the inside two lanes because those are the ones which I think turn 19 should be based on.

In the second image, I have slightly redesigned the entry to the pair of long turns so that it will flow a bit better.  The first of those long turns was not a constant radius, so I have made adjusts for that as well.  The roundabouts on InterB use a larger diameter because the previous ones were too small for long vehicles which a motorway would get a lot of.

Curveshire Video #3 is now uploaded.  It shows me doing one lap of Curveshire in GTAVC.  Just a developement edition, although I shall release it publically if there is demand.  Don't have an SCM for it currently, just using a featureless one.
